SENATE REJECTS MAGU AS EFCC CHAIRMAN AGAIN

The Senate on Wednesday rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the second time.

The DSS had written had written another letter to the Senate insisted that Magu failed the ‘integrity test’.

Former Senate Majority leader, Ali Ndume in a point of order however opposed Magu’s rejection, stating that the Senate recieved two different letters from the DSS.

Senator representing Kogi Central, Dino Melaye stated that following his rejection, the Senate should mandate the most senior officer to take over.

Senate President Bukola Saraki in his concluding speech said, “We should not rubbish the entire institution because of an individual.”
