First Lady Liza Marcos-Araneta met with Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda, Quezon Gov. Helen Tan and other government officials in an early morning, vibrant ceremony at the Quezon provinceâs capitol grounds in Lucena City on Tuesday, Jan 9.
And what did old friends talk about?
Politics, perhaps?
About Mandanas being cajoled by local government leaders to run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections, for championing what is now called the Mandanas ruling? Or about the rumors to recruit him into a job closer to the President? About the ambitious projects of Governor Tan in Quezon and Governor Pineda in Pampanga?
Could be, but what was visible in the eyes was the First Lady bringing various government services, medical and legal among others in the provinces, on Tuesday it was in Quezon, her first time to set foot in the âhistoric, beautifulâ province, through her âLab for allâ program. Sounds like getting the mountain to Mohammed, but that was her husbandâs tall order, she said.
Feel the love
âWe want you to see and feel government services here in the provinces,â the First Lady said before a cheering crowd.
They were all there to accompany the First Lady: Health chief Ted Herbosa, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, PAO chief Persida Acosta, and officials from PCSO, Philhealth, among others.
Araneta-Marcos must have enjoyed the company and yes, the food, the provinceâs hospitality, that she stayed for more than two hours.
Red: Color of the day
She was spotted with Mandanas introducing to her some young LGU leaders, among them the tall and handsome Mayor Mark Alcala of Lucena City, the host city. Tan and Pineda were a nice pair walking hand in hand, but that was what teamwork, or unity and cooperation, is all about.
The high spirits of the occasion filled the room, the Marcosâ red campaign color is luxurious in its richness and vibrancy, like in the good, old days of Marcosâ 2022 presidential campaign.
