Tropical Storm Near Zambales Enhances Habagat; Scattered Rains Expected Across PH

As of today, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, PAGASA reports that the low-pressure area (LPA) previously being monitored has intensified into a tropical storm. It remains unnamed as it is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The tropical storm was last located 425 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness reaching up to 55 kilometers per hour

The storm is expected to re-enter the PAR within the next day or two; however, it is not forecast to have any direct impact on the country. Despite this, the system continues to enhance the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, which is bringing scattered rain and thunderstorms to several parts of the Philippines.

Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro are experiencing occasional rain throughout the day. The eastern section of Luzon is expected to have scattered rain showers and a high chance of localized thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Palawan and some parts of the Visayas are also forecast to receive scattered rain brought about by the monsoon flow. Meanwhile, Mindanao will generally have fair weather, but humid air will likely make conditions feel hotter and more uncomfortable, especially around midday.

In Metro Manila, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated thunderstorms likely in the late afternoon or evening. The temperature range in the capital is expected to be between 21 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Sea conditions will be moderate to rough, especially along the western seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. Small vessels and fisherfolk are advised to take necessary precautions.

The public is reminded to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides in areas affected by rainfall. Continuous monitoring of PAGASA advisories is encouraged to remain informed of any significant weather developments.
